On the 27th of May 2020 the MIG team collected the Hospital Bed that was recently provided to Mr Lee Kwong Hon for his Home Care who had passed away peacefully. Previously the delivery was led by Lim Wai Fah. Miss Lee, his daughter in appreciation of our assistance was generous enough to donate additional medical equipment to to be used to assist others who needed them. Bless her.

Medical Equipment donated by Miss Lee.

As members of the MIG Team are all above 70 plus and considered Covid 19 High Risk Group we do need to take safety measures to protect ourselves and others. Pictures attached shows the disinfecting process at the collection point before loading the equipments into the van.

Second phase of disinfection procedure back at the center by leaving them under the sun for at least 5 hrs.

As part of our social responsibility to our members, all our equipment will be sanitized before delivery.

Many thanks to all those who have sacrificed and contributed in one way or another in making this Program possible. It will be great if more veterans can participate as members of the MIG Team to bring it to greater heights.

Incidentally, the built up to how MACVA could offer its assistance was from the follow-up meetings held on 31 Oct 19 and 7 Nov 19 following the presentation by Dr Leong Weng Foon, Tang Wah and Richard Lye Wah to MACVA's Management Committee (MC) on 25 Oct 19.

A report was filed in the evening of 6 Nov 19 informing the MC and members of "MACVA Patient Mobility Assistance (MPMA)'s Working Group" on the overall assessment of the visit.

Tan Ying Ying called at about 1300H on 8 Nov 19 with news from SAGH that her father will be discharge on that day. The exigency for bedding was immediately relay to the MPMA team members. Delivery was arranged and accomplished at about 091400H Nov 19 by Richard Lye Wah, Foo Choon Sing and Anthony Chong.

Once the agreement by the collaborating parties are formalise, the officially announcement of the programme launching will be made. The timely delivery of the hospital bed was testimony that "mechanics" on the plan and operation in discussion was attended to and addressed. The prompt reaction from members of MPMA was both heart warming and reassuring that reflects commitment by all involved and could possibly place MACVA on a higher platform.

This small gesture shows great camaraderie and comradeship among fellow MACVs and kudos to all who have made the effort. It is one of MACVA objectives to render assistance and support to its Veteran members who are in dire need of help and we pray for their speedy recovery. MACVA would like to express its sincere gratitude to Tang Wah and Richard Lye Wah for sponsoring the hospital bed for Tan Cheog Hee.
