On 14 Jan 24, Sunday, 13 MACVs participated in the above event, organized by the Malaysian WWII History Society, KL&Sel Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) from 0800 - 0900hrs, at KL Hokkien Cemetery, Jalan Kerayong, KL.

Acting President, VP Army Carol Loo represented MACVA in the laying of wreath together with representatives from KLSCAH's affiliated associations. Among the invited guests were the Bukit Bintang representative, YB Fong Kui Lun, 1st Secretary from the Chinese Embassy, Mr Wang Jun and the British Defence Attache, Capt Anthony Stockbridge.

The event started off with the singing of "NegaraKu", followed by speeches from KLSCAH representatives, some of the invited guests, laying of wreaths, sounding of the Last Post, group photos and lastly a short refreshment at the temple Hall.

MACVA members led by President Dato' Lee Kwang Lock attended the WW II Kuala Lumpur Remembrance Day on 11 Jan 23 at the WW II Monument, Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Cemetery . Within the Hokkien Cemetery were buried more than 800 men and women together with soldiers and resistance fighters. They lost their life during the WW II with many still unidentified and unaccounted for. The Memorial was erected to honour and remember them and to allow the general public to pay their respect.

MACVA held a similar event at the same location in 2018 and was invited to participate in this year event by the KL and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH). Also present at the event were Datuk Goh Seng Toh and Honsec Tony Ho.

The proceeding begins at 10.00 am with the arrival of guests and registration. This was followed by address from KLSCAH Chairman Mr Ngan Teng Ye and Bukit Bintang MP YB Fong Kui Lun. The laying of wreath were then performed by:-

MACVs and Guest at Rebuilt Memorial, Hokkien Cemetery Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysian Armed Forces Chinese Veterans Association (MACVA) recently held a Remembrance Day to pay respects to victims and heroes of the World War II in conjunction with this year Chinese Qing Ming observations from 26 Mar 18 till 15 Apr 18. The event took place at the Rebuilt Memorial To Malayan Victims Of The Japanese Occupation located at the Hokkien Cemetery, Jalan Kerayong, Kuala Lumpur at 10.00 am Tuesday, 10 Apr 18.

Within the Hokkien Cemetery were buried 800 brutally murdered men and women together with more than 500 resistance fighters and dozens more who were buried alive. The Memorial was erected to honour and remember them and to allow the general public to pay their respect on the 15th of August each year.

MACVA hopes to serve a continual reminder to the general public, in order that this Memorial and the sacrifices that were made shall not be forgotten or slowly relegated into the country's forgotten annals.

Rebuilt Memorial To Malayan Victims Of The Japanese Occupations.

The proceeding begins with a speech by MACVA President Maj Tan Pauson (Rtd). This was followed by the reading of the Memorial epitaph in English by Maj Lim Wai Fah RMAF (Rtd) and the reading in Mandarin by WO2 Hong Swee Chui (Rtd). Chief Reverend Dhammaratana was invited to conduct the Buddhist prayer followed by Pastor Richard Moh Hoi Nyen who conducted the Christian prayer.

A total of 82 MACVs including invited guests and media attended the occasion which was very well received and appreciated by the WW II History Society of Chinese Assembly Hall of Kuala Lumpur and selangor. The Society Secretariat General extended an invitation to MACVA to the WW II History Society annual ceremony at the Memorial to be held on 15 August 2018.

The President of MACVA extended his thanks to everyone who had worked hard to ensure that the Remembrance Day was held with great success and was very appreciative of members support from RMAF Veterans, Northern and East Coast Chapters. Kudos to Maj Lim Wai Fah RMAF (Rtd), Organising Chairman and his hard working committee members for a splendid job.

马来西亚华裔退伍军人协会(MACVA)会长陈保山少校说,根据《2012年退伍军人法令》与国家宪法规定,该协会不是政党机构,也不阻会员参与任何政党,因为这是个人的意愿。而作为一个军人,最重要的是为君王与国家服务与奉献,不为任何政党站台。

(吉隆坡10日讯)来届大选落於5月9日(星期三),马来西亚华裔退伍军人协会(MACVA)会长陈保山少校表示,如果政府是对的,就让它继续执政;如果觉得政府还不够好,那就选择更好的政府。

他说,根据《2012年退伍军人法令》与国家宪法规定,该协会不是政党机构,也不阻会员参与任何政党,因为这是个人的意愿。而作为一个军人,最重要的是为君王与国家服务与奉献,不为任何政党站台。

他今日出席福建义山二战战士墓碑公祭仪式後向媒体表示,这是该协会初次举办这场公祭仪式,以向日军侵占我国时期遇难的英雄与遇难者表达致敬与纪念,并藉此提醒国人和年轻人勿忘他们所作出的奉献与牺牲。

考虑邀日使馆参与公祭
询及是否邀请日本驻马大使馆官员前来参与公祭仪式,他说未来会考虑这个建议,而如今已有部份日本人特地前来这埋葬了800人的墓碑给予致敬。

对於日本侵马来亚的年代,出生在1944年的他,脑海中有许多难过的回忆,其家人也是受害者之一,如其妻子的叔叔某天出外,从此再也没有踏进家门,再者,也有人出外买东西时,被日本人捉起来後,向他灌水,然後在他身上猛跳来折磨他。

“对於日军对华裔的残忍对待,我们要纪念他们的牺牲,年轻人也应该记下这段历史。”

走入校园鼓励华裔当兵
他表示,有关华裔年轻人好男女不当兵,该会在过去一年积极走入校园进行分享会与说明会,以鼓励华裔年轻人入伍当兵。
